I've been thinking about communication a lot lately. An article published by Inc. Magazine titled What the Experts Are Saying About Your Choice of Words captures some keys things to be mindful of when communicating with co-workers or customers.
When communicating with customers, I've found visual representation reaches people faster, and gives me a chance to showcase my personal brand. In my post on February 17th, 2020, I mentioned giving stylists and barbers access to tools that will help you build your own haircutting guide to share with clients! That is what this post is about today.
- Swap "I" and "me" for "us" and "we"
- Your words reveal your true character
- Avoid the word "problem"
- Leverage persuasive words to build rapport

How to Build It

- Download/access my Excel file here. If you're working on your phone, you'll need the Google Sheets app (free). Links to both iOS and Android versions are within this article.
- Fill it in with your own recommendations for how often clients should cut their hair (or use mine).
- Take a screen shot of the cells you've filled in.
- Access my Canva templates below. If you haven't set up an account with Canva, it's free (www.canva.com). They also have apps for iOS and Android, accessible here.
- On the Canva website or app, search "Instagram Story" under the templates and start a new project. If needed, YouTube video on how to do this from a laptop here, and from your phone here.
- Upload one of my Canva files onto the template, or create your own!
- If you use my template, place the Excel screen shot in the center of the Canva file, covering the white rectangle.
- Make sure to add your name and instructions on how to book with you, like in my example above.
